The OfficeScope Spotlight

OfficeScope Gives back to the Community

Organizations make an impact in their community in various ways. Volunteering allows you to choose where and how to make a difference, unlike other aspects of life you may not be able to control as an organization. It’s also inspiring and rewarding to see a direct impact on a cause you truly care about.

At our organization, not only do our paperless solutions help the environment, we also strive to provide the best atmosphere for our employees and thus spread goodwill to the community. With this in mind, we now provide each employee two days a year to volunteer for any cause that inspires them.

Below, you can read a couple stories on how we have given to the causes we feel so passionate about!

Sherrie Beek, Training Manager/Support Technician

Volunteering with my now 11 year old son is something I have wanted to do for some time. Teaching him about giving back and how it feels to help others is very important to me. When I heard that etfile started an employee program that allows us to volunteer a few days a year, I was thrilled! I immediately started to call around to find a place where we could both volunteer.

This holiday season my son and I will be volunteering our time working at our local Federated Church food pantry helping to organize and sort donations for the upcoming Holiday. After our allotted time there, we will move on to the local Fire Department where we will be helping with some small projects around the fire station. We will then be working at the JCC (Jewish Community Center) in Worcester to help with their Senior Program and provide company and laughs for the seniors! They said the seniors love to have kids visit and help out. There is no feeling greater than giving back to the community, helping others in need and best of all teaching my son to do for others.

This is a win-win-win program where business, employees, and community all benefit. I am grateful we have established this charitable opportunity to live the true meaning of the season.

LeeAnn Thompson, Account Manager

Over the past year, etfile has afforded me the ability to participate in two volunteer opportunities that are very close to me and my family.  The first was a fundraising event for a non-profit soccer club that my son’s participate in.  We organized and held “Music for Mill City” which was a great night out of live music and raffles. We were able to raise over $8,000 for scholarships to allow children to participate who normally cannot.

The second was for my parish, The West Chelmsford United Methodist Church.  We hold a holiday bazaar every year to fund raise to help local organizations that serve the needy in the area for the holidays.  It was a great day to feel like you are giving back to the community that you live in.  I cannot express how appreciative I am that etfile affords it employees the ability to give of their time, not just their money, to organizations that matter to them.  For 2016 I would like to find a way to give back to an absolutely amazing place that given so much to my family-Boston Children’s Hospital.

Overall, this opportunity provides employee’s time they did not have in past positions to stay connected to the causes they feel passionate about.

We look forward to reinforcing our place in the community in 2016. Happy holidays to everyone!
